If you seek a wine with the lowest levels of allergens, your best option is the ones that are specifically marked ‘Low Preservative’ below:

CHARDONNAY 2008  Low Preservative ($18.00 each or $16.20 by the dozen)

This excellent wine will appeal to a wide range of palates. It is different from a heavily wooded Chardonnay, and many of our clients have returned to drinking Chardonnay because of this wine.   This wine is our latest example of a low-allergy easy-drinking wine that is low in sulphites, no added potassium sorbate, low in grape tannins, no oak tannins, and has a sensible level of alcohol at 12%. This lovely wine is pale straw in colour and provides a medium bodied finish with honeydew melon aromas and well rounded character. It is a soft wine that can be consumed on its own with lots of conversation, or to accompany Italian, French, Asian, or Seafood.  Unwooded. 12% Alcohol. Free Sulphite: 13 ppm.

ROSÉ 2008 Low Preservative ($18.00 each or $16.20 by the dozen)

Tracey was very keen to produce a ‘Low Preservative’ Rose with reduced allergenic properties, to replace our previous Rose 2006 which is now nearly sold out. This wonderful new 2008 Rosé provides softly scented strawberry aromas, and the palate is rounded with a hint of berries and subtle tannin. The wine provides a clean well-rounded finish. It is wonderful to drink on its own, or enjoy it with good food.  It has been very popular with our customers.   Unwooded. 12% Alcohol. Free Sulphite: 15ppm.

MERLOT 2008 Low Preservative  ($21.00 each or $17.00 by the dozen)

The Merlot grape originating in Bordeaux has a lovely smooth character. It is one of the lowest in tannins and therefore one of the lowest from an allergic point of view. Our Merlot has delicate blackcurrant characters overlaying the lovely soft fruit aroma of this easy-drinking red wine. Soft tannins and cherry flavours integrate to create a vibrant medium length palate. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes such as Italian pasta, pizza and antipasto. Lightly wooded in small French oak barrels. 12% Alcohol. Free Sulphite: 13 ppm.
